So these names may seem a bit unfamiliar for Step On That Dub, but I assure you there is reason behind this madness: I watched the Nicki Minaj Takeover on Fuse this morning and I have been a closet Nicki Minaj fan for a while now. She has interestingly creative lyricism, i.e. sick flows, laid over tastily produced backtracks, and she is straight-up Crazy. But that crazy has made good enough music in 2011 to get a “New Artist of the Year” Grammy nomination along with Skrillex, so Respect! Anyways, this track opens with a sick multi-toned beat, filled-out by gritty synths and some of the illest flows I ever heard. So get yo “Young Money” on and Enjoy!!

So last night up-and-coming artist Brenton Duvall played a SICK set at my favorite place in the world, Colorado College. He made my face melt and my body rock ache, but it was well worth every moment . Brenton has a variety of work but most of his tracks have a chilled-out but upbeat electronic feel. Some of the songs you may have heard before around campus before but there are some new sick tracks that you shall like. My favorite is “Strange Times” because of its flow and ability to make me rock back and forth. Also, give Brenton some love by checking out his Soundcloud and Facebook pages. Help Save Community Higher Education with Real Tasty Hip-Hops

Today I have for you, music for a Good Cause. “A group calling themselves the Student ‘Success’ Task Force is trying to pass new legislation, which would penalize any student attending a community college if they’ve already attended 4 semesters of college, earned a degree, or are majoring in something like music. (What?!?!?) The penalty is to raise the price per class unit by $200+. The people behind this bill hold high positions in student loan businesses and are hoping to pass this bill, forcing students to take out more student loans.” (Read more: Electrolights Music)

As you can see this is some Bullshit that should not be allowed to pass. Student loans are evil and not well-regulated, so help stop this greed by signing a petition.

This guy has got a real sick flow that sound  a lot like “slime shady”, not Eminem (I’m talking about the early theatrical stuff he did on Slim Shady LP).
